A poignant plea for the human treatment of offenders by the most famous agnostic and free-thinker of 19th-century America. One of 174 copies printed on Imperial Japanese vellum, of which this is No. 118. Text body set in Scotch Roman. Top lid of box missing. Tiny chipping on glassine. Glassine in overall good to good+, binding and interior in fine condition.
