The title page credits Kiyoshi Kuromiya as 'adjuvant', and indeed the renowned activist went on to tour with Fuller post-publication. Kuromiya, born in Wyoming in a World War II–era internment camp, has a biography that spans twentieth-century political movements to an almost superhuman extent: he was an aide to and close friend of Martin Luther King Jr., cofounder of Gay Liberation Front Philadelphia, and the instigator of the largest antiwar demonstration in the history of the University of Pennsylvania.
