Previous owners name on ffep. No tears or loss. Dated 1949 on the copyright page. No other dates mentioned. First UK edition. The outer red boards with black lettering is unmarked and universal throughout. Small fade strip at the top of the spine matching the loss at the top of the wrapper.
The wrapper shows a price of 6s net on the front flap, Small loss to top and bottom of the spine. Chips to bottom of front panel. Rubbing along the top and folds. An extremely difficult title to find with an original wrapper.

Synopsis
Crooked House is a work of detective fiction by Agatha Christie first published in the US by Dodd, Mead and Company in March 1949 and in the UK by the Collins Crime Club on May 23 of the same year. The US edition retailed at $2.50 and the UK edition at eight shillings and sixpence (8/6). The action takes place in and near London in the autumn of 1947. Christie has said that this was one of her two favourites of her own works, the other being Ordeal by Innocence.
