London: Arthur L. Humphreys, 1911. First Edition. Thick Quarto. 437 pages, portraits, maps, plans, large map at rear. The major work on the Royal Dubin Fusiliers, 2nd Batt. The fullest details as to the formation of the 1st Bombay European Regiment, which became the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. It remains an important reference to understanding and seeing the organization (Pages ix-xiii is the original subscriber's list (many of whom served or died in World War I). The blue tabs are guides to show where the color military images are found. Occasional pencil notes by a very serious researcher are found at several points in the book. scattered foxing, mostly marginal. Bound in full rich black leather trimmed in gilt and blind, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gilt, housed in a nice cloth case with pastedown from the original binding.
