Hardcover has olive green cloth-covered boards with gold spine lettering. Top edges gilt. Covers have blind-stamped ruled borders. Deckle fore-edges and bottom edges. NOT ex-library. Binding tight. Front hinge partially cracked, but still strong. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with some fraying at tips and spine ends. A one-quarter-inch square piece is missing from the head of the spine. Covers have moderate edge wear and surface rubbing. Spine leans a little. Name in ink on blank page after front free endpaper, dated 1899. A few pages have a small brown spot in the margin. Small faint number in blue ink at bottom of last page. Otherwise, pages are clean and unmarked. 276 pages. "Printed by Ballantyne, Hanson & Co. at the Ballantyne Press". No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box. Contents: Lecture I: Work - Lecture II: Traffic - Lecture III: War - Lecture IV: The Future of England - Appendix: Notes on the Economies of the Kings of Prussia.
