London: William Heinemann LTD, 1947. Book. Near Fine. Cloth. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Brown cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. This copy is NEAR FINE in an unclipped ( 18s. ) DJ with jacket art from an original drawing by Augustus John of the author. Exterior is rich. Gilt is bright. Only hints of wear around the edges. Inside has map EPs, PO neat signature dated July 1947 to title page, modest toning to EPs where DJ did not cover. Scattered foxing throughout and to page edges. Otherwise unmarked, firm, and tight. DJ is VG- with a 4" closed tear to front leading edge, moderate chipping to spine ends, and modest chip to lower front tip. Modest rubbing and scattered foxing as well. SCARCE in DJ. Only one other such on Abe as of August 2022..
