About This Item
Harper & Brothers, 1952. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good+/Good. Author's third novel, about a concert pianist & the mistress who draws him into "a world of emotionally threadbare, would-be bohemians, tolerant of very vice & depravity, with unflagging appetites for the shabby sex & liquor that kept them on the fringes of existence." A FIRST EDITION, first printing (per code) from 1952, this hardcover 8vo has a blue cloth-wrapped spine with gray cloth over boards, lettered in lighter blue to spine. Condition is VG+: completely clean, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with a whisper of tanning to edges, but unmarked. Very mild bumping to lower spine & corners. The unclipped DJ is Good, marred by small chips at corners & head of spine, some little holes to back cover, shallow creasing & rubbing to extremities; protected in new clear mylar cover free! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, Weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
