London : J Adlard for the Proprietors, 1812 This is the second part of Culpeper's English Physician and complete Herbal, revised by Ebenezer Sibley and is a medical work complete in itself. With 12 black and white plates including the frontispiece. These include detailed diagrams of the human skeleton, arterial system, venous system, muscles, the heart, and of the foetus in the womb and the process of childbirth. Sibley was a physician as well as an astrologer and writer on the occult. The book gives a detailed anatomical description of the human body together with the influence of the stars and planets on different organs of the body. Cures and treatments are listed for numerous ailments - from diabetes to measles. This copy is the 13th edition. The full leather binding is in poor condition with both boards present but adrift.
