London: The Royal Horticultural Society, 1948. Series volumes 165- 172 bound in 8 cloth volumes representing the ten year period 1948-1957. (two or four parts were published per year, with four parts per volume, so some volumes span 2 years). A total of 351 plates (numbered n.s.t. 1 - n.s.t. 351) of which some folding. Uniformly bound in the publisher's blue buckram cloth with gilt lettering to the spines. Very good with slight wear only, a few volumes with light surface discoloration, lightly faded to the spine. Contents clean and tight, plates very bright, no soiling or discolouration of the paper, no inscriptions. A very good run.. First Edition. Hardback. Near Fine/No Dust Jacket. Illus. by Snelling, Ross-Craig, Margaret Stone, et al.. 8vo.
