London: Cyclists' Touring Club Quarto. An excellent broken run of this famous monthly magazine complete for the years 1896 (Volume XV), 1903, 1926 to 1929, and 1932 to 1937. Many b/w illustrations (by such artists as Frank Patterson), steel engravings and photos. Each of the 12 volumes is about 450 pages and includes an index. Original blind-stamped cloth (variously blue, red and green) with the club's gilt logo on upper boards. Gilt titling on spines and upper boards. The binding of the 1896 volume is worn around the spine and hinges. Overall, the collection is in very good condition. *The C.T.C. Gazette, which contains a wealth of information for the cycling historian and enthusiast, was the premier British cycling magazine of its time. It was originally (in 1878) the Monthly Circular of the Bicycle Touring Club, but changed to the C.T.C. Gazette in 1882. It contained many fascinating accounts of cycling adventures in Britain, Europe and elsewhere and kept C.T.C. members up to date on the latest bicycles, news and suitable routes.. Hard Cover. Good.
