The boards show some browning and foxing, likely from the remains of the dust jacket. The front and rear panels and turn-ins of the jacket remain. The front panel of the jacket has a couple of glass rings as well as a 3 1/2inch tear on the fore edge near the bottom corner. This tear has some old and failed tape repairs and a large accompanying crease. Self-published book of 9 poems celebrating police work with titles including "A Policeman's Duties," "The Vagrant," "The Traffic Cop," "I Am the Law," et al. According to the brief foreword, the poems were mostly written during a period when Kelly was working over-night on the "signal desk" due to an injury sustained in the line of duty.
