About This Item

1696 FALL of ROME Salvian Gaul & Vincent Lerins Early Christian Martyrdom RARE

Salvian was a 5th-century writer who is primarily known for his two existing treatises. Salvian was a Christian living in Gaul during the Fall of Rome, and his most important work was dedicated to describing the events that lead to the fall.

This collection of the works of Salvian was published in Venice and includes the works of Vincent of Lerins, another 5th-century Christian monk who wrote on Roman martyrs and the heretical views of the papacy and early Catholic Church. This 1696 edition was collected and edited by Italian Cardinal, Stephano Cosmi, who was archbishop of Spalato, Italy at the time.
