New York: Downtown Athletic Club, 1975. Signed by Archie Griffin with color photo of him from Heisman ceremony laid-in. Very Good condition but for minor spotting on the cover. Light edgewear. SEE PHOTOS. Pages are clean and unmarked. This is the program for the 41st Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Award, December 1975. The award was presented to Ohio State University's Archie Griffin, chosen as the outstanding college football player in the United States for 1975. Having also won in 1974, Griffin is the first and only two-time Heisman winner. This program has 70 pages, and includes several excellent articles - on John W. Heisman; the Heisman Memorial Committee; how the balloting is done; how the Heisman candidates finished in the balloting over the years (top 14 places, 1935-1974), a photo gallery of the previous 30 winners, etc. Bound in the original pictorial red wraps, with a photo of Archie Griffin on the front cover. Archie Griffin has signed "To Ellen" on the front cover. [Ellen is the daughter of Ronald Cobleigh, President of the Downtown Athletic Club - sponsor of the Heisman Memorial Trophy]. The cover is also signed by football celebrities Cornelius Green #7 (OSU 1972-75, elected Hall of Fame 1998), Brian Baschnagel (Griffin's teammate, Chicago Bears, 1976-1984, 15.1 yards per reception average for his pro career) and Doug Van Horn (OSU 1963-65, elected Hall of Fame 1984). Laid-in is a full color 8" by 10" photo of Archie Griffin with Ronald Cobleigh, his wife and daugher, standing behind Archie Griffin's two Heisman trophies.. Signed by Archie Griffin. First Edition.
