Paris: Pierre Seghers, 1948. First Edition. Softcover. Octavo, xxxviii, 149 pages. Bound in orange wove paper wrapped in protective clear plastic wrapping. Spine is orange with black lettering. Slight soiling and fading to covers and spine. Age-toning to textblock. Inscribed by Lély on half-title page. Several pages uncut throughout textblock. Tables and original documents tipped in throughout. Offset mark to last page from. back cover. Textblock clean. Shelved in Case 12. Lély was a French poet who believed he had an almost mystical connection with the Marquis de Sade after seeing a vision of him while visiting the ruins of the castle featured on the front cover. Because of his devotion, he was granted full access to Sade's archives by his descendants for this book. This book also includes an original poem by Lély. 1370663. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
