Douay was a Catholic seminary in Doai, France. It was first established in 1561 before being suppressed in 1793. It is known for its Doay-Rheims Bible. The Holy Order of S Augustin at Bruges, or the English Convent in Bruges was first founded in 1629. The Convent still stands today as one of the only English Catholic religious houses in Continental Europe. One noted Prioress of the English Convent was Mother Mary More, daughter of Thomas More and Catherine Gifford. She is the last lineal descendant of Sir Thomas More, the English Lord High Chancellor of England and author of 'Utopia'.
