George Allen, 1885. 1st Thus. Hardcover. VG+. GREENAWAY, Kate. 1st Thus, Deluxe Large Paper Edition one of a limited edition of 400. 17.7 x 22.5 cm maroon cloth with blind stamped line borders and gilt stamped vignette and titles to the front. Uncut edges iv, [4], 20, [1] pp. Twenty-two woodcuts, pp. 3,4,8, and 9 by Kate Greenaway. A lovely copy with only a couple of small marks light marks and a little rubbing to the spine tips, corners and edges. Internally clean and bright with a number of pages unopened, neat ownership name to the half title and a little toning to the verso of the free endpapers. There is a faint pencil note about the book to the verso of the front free endpaper and one or two very faint handling marks within the text. Originally published in 1823, this is a facsimile reprint with four additional verses and illustrations by Ruskin and Greenaway respectively.
