New York: George H. Doran Company, 1926. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good. First edition (with GHD logo on copyright page). Pumpkin-colored cloth boards stamped in dark green. Ends of spine lightly pushed. Minor markings on ffep, small blemish on flyleaf, else clean and unmarked. Dust jacket shows a bit of soiling and has a couple short closed tears; some fading to spine; in clear archival sleeve. 396 pages. 7.6 x 5.25 inches. A historical novel of the Middle Ages and the Crusades, set in Southern Europe and Jerusalem, which follows a French troubadour-fugitive and his page, who turns out to be a beautiful girl who follows him on the Crusades in the guise of a dancer. Eugene Paul Metour (1880-1929) was a French-American writer, artist, and professor of romance languages. He received degrees at the Universty of Montpellier prior to immigrating to the United States in 1902.
