Black boards with silver writing on spine; top and bottom of book spine rumpled. Book has lean to it; side page edges have two small gaps like someone paper-clipped them as a bookmark. Pages slightly yellowed with age; very slight shelf wear on top and bottom of dust jacket spine. Price of $13.95 listed on front fold of dust jacket; tight binding and pages still look in excellent condition.

Walker and Company First Edition; First Printing as indicated by complete number line ending in "1" on copyright page. However, even with the complete number line, the statement of "This addition (sic) printed in 1985." is on coypright page.

Elkins' second novel starring Professor Gideon Oliver. Hardcover and original unclipped dust jacket protected by archival Mylar cover.
