London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle and Rivington. Very Good+. 1890. Hardcover. 2-volume set, 529 and 472 pages, bound in 1/4 brown leather and marbled boards, the end-papers and page-edges are also marbled, illustrated with 150 woodcuts and maps, one large color folding map in Volume 1, two color folding maps in Volume 2 which also includes a fold-out Table of Languages, a color plate at page 307, a map of The Nile and The Nile Basin and a series of small maps on pages 269-275, both volumes have some surface-wear to the spine-edges and corners, mild foxing is present on a small number of pages only and it is basically confined to the top margins, the map in Volume 1 has a short tear but no loss, the bindings are tight and clean and the text and illustrations are in great shape .
