About This Item

Sir Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904) led one of the most adventurous of British lives, from serving in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War, to his "finding" of David Livingstone, and to tracing the Congo River to its source. He wrote this account of his rescue of Emin Pasha in 1886, which became a very controversial action. These are Very Good copies of the First American Edition.
