The first edition, first impression.In the original unclipped dust wrapper.'The Darling Buds of May' is the first in a series of five novels, following a rural family from Kent, the Larkins. A comical novel which was adapted into a tv series in the 1990s.H. E. Bates was a noted English author who is best known for this series of five books, 'The Darling Buds of May' followed by 'A Breath of French Air', 'When the Green Woods Laugh', 'Oh! To Be In England', and 'A Little of What You Fancy'. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Dust wrapper is lightly edge worn, with small closed tears. Very minor discolouration to the dust wrapper, with a few spots to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
