David Cameron, a young lad from Aberdeen, is kidnapped after the death of his father and sold into slavery in Virginia, after which he and "the Indian chief Tomah, to whom David had been able to show kindness on board ship," escape. Soon thereafter David experiences "an astonishing series of adventures in the wilderness." Beige cloth w/dark green lettering to front cover/spine, 237 pages, illustrated w/frontispiece and four internal drawings. Covers slightly warped, mild wear to corners/spine ends, edges lightly foxed/soiled, in price-clipped dust jacket w/a bit of edgewear, smudged/soiled rear panel, 3/8" tear to bottom right spine edge..
