All acknowledgements, list of illustrations, biographical note and index. Pale grey coloured end pages. At the beginning of the text there is a double page of maps, showing the Nevada and the Trinity side. Between pages 178 and 179 there are eight pages of black-and-white photography. Pale green coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the back strip. Plaintext dustwrapper with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. On 6 August 1945 Nagasaki was subject to a uranium bomb; with a plutonium bomb being dropped on Nagasaki three days later. Quoting from the front fold over panel blurb " ... This book is the dramatic story of the Los Alamos atomic explosion and the men who opened the nuclear age." Rubbing to the lower book edges with softening of the back strip edges. A couple of bumps along the top edge of the front panel. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with sunning to the back strip. Some handling marks also present to the back strip. The laminate of the dustwrapper has come away in various patches. First English Edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
