Self-Published. Good. 1892. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Hardcover, no dustjacket, scarce original edition, "A few of the pages that compose this volume appeared in that short lived periodical, 'The Staten Island Magazine,' but for the greater part they are records of rambles made during the past several years. Rambles that were made sometimes with Charles W. Long, when I assisted in that happily never-to-be-ended task of discovering all kinds of beetles that inhabit the island..." (from the Preface) Both the front and rear hinges are exposed but the binding remains tight, the cover has small scuff-marks and some edge-wear at the spine-ends, the front and rear end-papers are tanned and the former owner's name-stamp is present on the inside of the front cover and in the top margin of page 100, the contents are fine, included with this copy is a 46-page pamphlet titled "Picturesque Staten Island - The Gateway to New York Harbor, in Pen and Pencil" published by The Staten Island Amusement Co. The illustrated cover is quite worn but the contents are in decent shape ; 132 pages .
