New York: John Wiley, 1848. First Thus . Full-Leather. Good-. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. J.W. Orr. indicates that Wiley is of the late firm of Wiley and Putnam; this volume comprises pp 249-865, starting with Chapter XVII (ends with LVII); black leather with some gilt stamping, there is a frontis portrait of Dickens and a title page, which makes no mention of volumes; there is no list of plates; leather-covered boards show a little soiling and rubbing to extremities, minor crackling, front hinge is partially cracked but still fairly solid, also cracking at title page & pp. 845 & 865 (last signature is partially loose, but still holding); tear to title page; pencil writing on first blank page, foxing & toning throughout, some staining, child's pencil scribblings on a few pages and at least one plate; all plates appear to be present.
