Macmillan, 1986. 1st edition.. Hardback. Imitation cloth, dj, VG/VG. 191pp, endpapers, dustjacket flaps & title foxed, page margins yellowed, edges of the dustjacket a little worn, otherwise a nice copy. A whodunnit set in a country mansion that has been converted into flats, featuring the solicitor, Rosa Epton. The author, born John Michael Evelyn, [ 1916 - 1992 ] was a barrister & his novels ( some 40 odd ) are usually about the 'solid plod of police work and after that the sober and intricate processes of the law'. ( H F R Keating ).

A fine book will look almost like the day it was bought, a VG one will have some evidence of prior ownership, G means a nice clean copy, obviously secondhand & P implies a COMPLETE copy that has suffered a hard life & will need some TLC. We take into account the books age when grading, so a 250 year old book graded as VG will look more second hand that a 5 year old book graded the same. On the Net since 1998. All prices are in GBP.
