This volume contains a large sampling of Cartier-Bresson's best b/w photographs. Includes a text by the photographer about his philosophy of photography and art as well as a section on the technical aspects of photography.

"Henri Cartier-Bresson carries his Leica camera with him at all times. He wanders through life looking for decisive moments - historical ones, emotional ones, beautiful ones. When the decisive moment arrives, he immediately composes the picture in the viewfinder of his camera and snaps the shutter. The results are some of the most memorable pictures of our time." (Simon & Schuster).

Dustjacket somewhat sunned along edges and some light wear along edges. Quarter inch chip at top of sine, else light chipping. Boards with very light wear along edges and lightly age-toned. Some light smudging in margins of some of the plates. Block lightly age-toned, not affecting plates.
