About This Item
London : Chatto and Windus, 1895. Cloth. Good. 7.5" by 5". None. A uncommon edition of Hall Caine's The Deemster, in attractive cloth binding. Considered to be one of Caine's finest novels, and the first "Manx" novel, the work takes place on the Isle of Man, his first to do so, and was a great success upon publication. In decorative cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally quite smart, there is minor wear to the extremities and joints, as well as sunning to backstrip. Internally, the pages are firmly bound but are lightly spotted throughout. Good
