An unemployed man who answers a letter from a stranger finds himself a central player in a mysterious series of events. Bumped/softened/worn corners, moderate wear to spine ends, tanned/dusty edges, previous owner's name on front free end paper, small abrasion to front pastedown where (apparent) sticker removal took some finish with it (covered by dust jacket flap). Dust jacket w/longish tears to spine edges, tears/chipping to corners, strip torn off top spine, slight sunning to spine, smudging to rear panel, general wear. Dust jacket now nicely ensconced in a protective mylar sleeve, which spruces it up nicely..
