A collection of the dark poetry of William Morris, set in a sombre world of violence, many of which are written in a dramatic monologue. When first published in 1858 this collection was cooley received by critics. Illustrated with a frontispiece, twenty-four plates, and illustrations throughout.Collated, complete.This edition was illustrated by Jessie M. King. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine is a little faded. Very light rubbing to the joints. Light marks to the head of the spine. Spots to the paste downs and endpapers. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the occasional scattered spot. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
