Approximately an eighth of an inch missing from the spine ends and corners rubbed through. Covers have light surface and edge wear, with light scratches. Last inch of index ribbon is missing. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.

It contains the complete Denis Duval and other works in one volume, including 28 illustrations by the author, as well as such famous illustrators as Frederick Walker and Charles Keene, including a frontis with tissue guard. This handsome volume also includes a biographical introduction by Anne Ritchie, Thackeray's daughter. The book is in Very Good condition and is bound in blue illustrated covers with repetitive floral designs and letter "T's" in dark blue surrounded by a dark blue border on both front and rear panels. The titles are in a die-stamped gilt on the spine. The book also features top-edge gilt and has rough-cut pages. The spine tips and corners show some rubbing.
