The first edition of rector Samuel Snowden’s controversial pamphlet calling for an abandonment of certain rites retained from ‘our Reformation from Rome, which other Protestant Churches thought fit to reject’ and other matters of conformity within the Church of England perceived to be inadequate, including the doctrine of regeneration by the spirit and the office of the burial of the dead.
