The first edition of rector Samuel Snowdenâs controversial pamphlet calling for an abandonment of certain rites retained from âour Reformation from Rome, which other Protestant Churches thought fit to rejectâ and other matters of conformity within the Church of England perceived to be inadequate, including the doctrine of regeneration by the spirit and the office of the burial of the dead.
