The author looks at nature and sees what is fleeting and what is most permanent. He travels to distant lands, then returns to Europe. Includes a series of short poetic descriptions of life and countryside in Western Australia, including a corroboree, the fauna of Bernier and Dorre Islands (Pilbara), and caves near Busselton.
