Texts in French. With the four-page Chroniques supplement. The illustrations include five single sheet colour lithographs and one folding triptych colour lithograph. The front cover is also a colour lithograph.Presentation copy from the artist, inscribed inside the front cover: ''Jeanette [sic] with best love - Francis''. The recipient is Janetta Parladé, the Marquesa de Apezteguia, a designer, painter and Bloomsbury socialite. She had quite an eventful private life. Bacon was one of the visitors to her home in Southern Spain.Small stain to top of a few sheets, not affecting the images. Covers rubbed and creased at the edges. Very good.
