Contents: From the designer’s sketchbook (28-page booklet with several illustrations and enclosed loose facsimile handwritten note: ""statements made in the designer's sketchbook are in reference to The Pedagogical Sketchbook by Paul Klee”); three envelopes (each with several sheets); + 5 loose text sheets. A collection of poems, notes, and text excerpts by the concrete and visual poet Carl Fernbach-Flarsheim. Published in an edition of 500 copies, stamp-numbered on the envelope. This copy with this artist’s Pennsylvania address handwritten on the envelope. In 1934 he had come to the United States as a war orphan and was adopted by Henry and Miriam Flarsheim where he adopted their family name. He fought in the Army during WWII and his military career culminated in him being assigned as a German translator during the Nuremberg Trials. He came back to the United States and attended college in Chicago School of Arts and Design in Chicago. He had a brief career in advertising and moved to Philadelphia to teach art as a college professor and artist.
