Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called *Synoptic Gospels* because they can be *seen together* (syn-optic) and displayed in three parallel columns. However, there are also important differences in the wording of individual stories and sayings, in the ordering of some materials, and in the overall extent of each gospel. Corners of cover show wear, top of Preface has stamped owner's name and address, theologian Alvin Woodard Ching of Northwestern Lutheran Theological Seminary Minneapolis, Minnesota, his name stamp also at top right of chart (not visible on face of chart). Chart is printed on thick textured paper that appears to be either linen or linen-backed. Chart and print block of Preface is clean. Chart can be removed . A rare first edition in near fine condition.
