Garden City: Doubleday, Page, 1919. Hardcover. Very Good. Hardcover in pale green linen cloth lettered in gilt. INSCRIBED ON THE HALF TITLE "Robert Bridges/ from/ Edward S. Martin/ April 30th, `1924". 414 pp. with index. Later printing (first was 1917). Sub-titled "The War and How We Got Into It", a collection of essays that first appeared in the original "Life" magazine during the three years following August, 1914. A tight example, some sunning to the spine strip and edegs of the boards. Martin was the co-founder and editor of "Life" as well as the founder of "The Harvard Lampoon". Robert Bridges was Britain's poet laureate from 1913 to 1930.
