About This Item

New York: Macmillan, 1984. First American Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Good +. INSCRIBED on the front free endpaper, 8vo, red cloth with gold lettering on spine, archival mylar-protected pictorial dust jacket (unclipped) suggestive of MacBeth's head created by Tom Beer, 262 pages. A dramatic mystery starring the deaf PI named Binney who becomes involved with a theft then murder connected to a NYC actor who's starring in a new TV series. Jack Livingston (1925 - 1988) worked for years as a merchant seaman; then turned mystery writer. DIE AGAIN, MACREADY was nominated for a Shamus for Best P.I. Hardcover Novel. UNCOMMON mystery: INSCRIBED & SIGNED (using the author's real & pen name). Cloth is tight, clean, with moderate consistent age-toning to pages. Dust jacket is unclipped and rather bright with a thumbnail chip to its veneer at the top of the front cover. No remainder marks.
