(Johannesburg: South African Railways, 1948). Small 4to; original blue cloth, lettered in gilt on spine and upper cover; pictorial dustwrapper; pp. 138, incl. index; colour frontis.; photographs; diagrams. Dustwrapper tanned and slightly edgeworn; fox spots to edges and occasionally elsewhere. Very good condition. The English version of this publication was produced for the International Railways Conference held in Switzerland in 1947, but owing to paper shortages, the Afrikaans equivalent did not appear until the following year. The book provides a thorough overview of the the South African Railways at the time and has an attractive dustjacket. .
