Later printing, tight and pristine, of the greatly expanded second edition of this 1978 classic, a pioneering book in its field -- and this copy bears a fine red-bordered bookplate on the title page boldly signed and inscribed in blue fineline by the author (born 1937), an influential innovator in the field: "Howard / Best Regards / William K. Pratt." Most unusual.
