San Francisco: National Ice Cream Company, (n. d.). Fair. Circa 1910. 14 x 20 cm. [30]pp. Stapled green wrappers printed in darker green and white. B&w and some color photographic halftones and illustrations throughout. LACKING one leaf. Wrappers spotted and worn, with heavy rubbing and a partial split to the spine; small piece of paper overlay missing from front wrapper. Promotional booklet detailing for potential customers the National Ice Cream Company's factory, process of making ice cream, method of delivery (horse and wagon), and the many flavors of ice cream they offer. The company was established in 1907, and ties its rise and technological prowess to the that of San Francisco following the 1906 earthquake and fire; at the end of the booklet, housewives are encouraged to telephone with orders for delivery.

White boards, blue lettering & illustration on front cover (minor shelfwear, very minor soiling, slight bumping to corners), still a VG copy, with laid-in promotional advertisement for the famed lost Raoul Walsh prison film, The Honor System, that was not only considered one of his best films, but made a tremendous impact during World War I. First edition of this collection of recipes intended to educate the young bride in how to keeping her husband fed healthily, with an emphasis on California & Southwest foods, such as Tamales, Enchiladas, Ghirardelli’s chocolate, citrus, heavy use of California raisins, and much more.
