About This Item

Crown, 1995. Book. Very Good. Soft cover. 8vo. 480 pp., orange, black, white - science.

Synopsis

Dinosaur in a Haystack (1995) is the seventh volume of collected essays by the Harvard paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould. The essays were culled from his monthly column "The View of Life" in Natural History magazine, to which Gould contributed for 27 years. The book deals, in typically discursive fashion, with themes familiar to Gould's writing: evolution and its teaching, science biography, probabilities and common sense.

About The Hard-to-Find Book Store

We opened our shop in August 1992 in an out-of-the-way, two-block street, hence the name. Shortly afterward we started getting books that were hard to find, so the name fits there, too. We recently closed the shop and are focusing on our online book business, continuing to provide the same customer care. Our specialties include Engineering and Technical, Christian and other religions, Foreign Language, Military History, and music. We also have classics, biographies, history, politics, and science, sports, law, etc. Please call for any information needed. We are in the Central time zone.
