About This Item
(Cape Town: Juta, 1950). 4to; original blue cloth, lettered in gilt on spine, with gilt school emblem to upper cover; no dustwrapper; pp. (viii) + 136, incl. index; plates, incl. some in colour; folding plan. Cloth a little mottled; earlier owner's name signed on front free endpaper; scattered foxing. Good condition. "This book celebrates the centenary of the Diocesan College, Rondebosch. Consequently, the founding of the School is described fully. The middle period of the story is told more concisely. But it seemed right, towards the end, to tell in some detail of the growing wave of development, expansion and progress which arose after the first World War and which promises to carry the School through its second hundred years with ever-increasing impulse." .
