New York: printed by Hans Mardersteig on the hand-press of the Officina Bodoni in Verona, for New Directions,, 1958. Finely printed First edition, number 117 of 200 copies signed by the poet on the limitation leaf. This edition collects "Homage to Sextus Propertius" (first published within Quia Pauper Amavi in 1919) and Hugh Selwyn Mauberley (first published in 1920). The title, Diptych Rome - London, is new for this edition. Of the 200 copies, numbers 1 to 125 were published for New Directions, copies 126-175 were for Faber & Faber and copies 176 to 200 were for Vanni Scheiwiller in Milan. Gallup, in his bibliography of Pound, gives each a separate entry. Quarto. Original brown boards, lettering to spine in gilt, author's monogram to front cover in gilt, top edge gilt, others untrimmed. With the original slipcase. Minor browning to fixed pastedowns, extremities of slipcase very slightly rubbed with minor soiling to rear panel; else a near-fine copy. Gallup A75(a).
