About This Item

Pittsburgh: Arsenal Binding and Finishing, 2007. First Printing. Hardcover. Very good. Cloth in bellyband dust jacket, very good, light wear, pencil note (on medications, nothing to do with the book) on flyleaf. Inscribed by Taylor to Horace Lee Turner and his wife Mary (Horace was a Black musician who was a contemporary of the author; he died in July 2022 at the age of nearly 101). 270 pp, illustrated. Both Taylor and Turner were fixtures in the jazz scene of the Hill District, the historic Black Pittsburgh neighborhood and jazz hotspot, and Turner and his wife are pictured in one of the photo plates at the rear of the book, termed "important" people. Nice association copy of a rare book.
