New York: G. P. Putnam, 1860. First edition on small paper (per BAL), 8vo, pp. 46, 8 (ads); original green cloth lettered in gilt on upper cover; spine sunned, extremities lightly rubbed; all else very good. A speech "delivered before the New York Historical Society, at the Academy of Music, New York, on the 3rd of April, 1860." Irving had died in November of the previous year and this speech was delivered on what would have been his 77th birthday. BAL 1668.
