London: A. C. Fifield, 1913. 60[+4 ads.]pp. 12mo. Buff coloured boards with brown lettering stamped to the front and spine. Bottom and fore edge of text block are untrimmed. Head and tail of spine lightly bumped, as are the corners. Internally clean. The original dust jacket has some wear and chipping along the edges, most notably to the bottom edge, with the tail of the spine and bottom front corner missing. Overall, a clean copy. From the same root lecture as Wells Society #20: "Two attitudes of mind are compared: that which bases all its actions and thoughts on the past, and that which looks to the future". 1913
