(USA) B0023BMWFU This copy is misisng the back cover and the last leaf of the index, he front cover is quite worn, and the first several leaves a=have toned edges, Accpetable used copy. Brown paper cover with brown cloth tape to spine, 156pp,(which is the index page ending at "Thryomanes bewicki", Colour frontis of Queen Charlotte Saw-whet Owl by Brooks, delicate fold-out map of Life Zones in perfect order, B&W photos. This monograph was publihsed by the Cooper ornithological Club on Sept, 1925. Allan Brooks is prbably bes known for i=his work as a zoological illustrator. He was a household word in Canada thirty years ago. He illustrated Taverner's Birds of Western Canada, a series in the National Geographic magazine, calendars, cards issued by the National Association of Audubon Societies, and covers on Keystone school exercise books . In 1924 Allan Brooks accompanied his friend Harry Swarth on a collecting expedition to Atlin, B.C. The result of this trip was collaboration on A Distribution List of the Birds of British Columbia, published under the auspices of the Cooper Ornithological Club of Berkeley, California in 1925.(1.4 JM FO 30/3.
