First edition Quarto 10.5" x 7.5"), xi & 141 pages including exhaustive illustrations from photographs in text & occasionally full page, with color frontis & 3 color plates (two folding). Publisher's original decorated purple silk over boards stabbed & cord-bound in the Japanese style, with applied printed title label on the upper cover, in the original box This copy with calligraphy & two chops at a leaf adjacent to the half-title page.
Shallow diagonal corner crease at front free endpaper, short tear in the upper margin of the frontis (illustration unaffected), small merchant's label on the title page, otherwise a lovely, Near Fine copy in the publisher's worn box: split or splitting at the joints, with evidence of crude repairs, soiled, rubbed, etc.
