London: Whittaker, Treacher, & Co., 1832. 325pp. Original green cloth boards, titles pasted on spine. Binding tight, spine straight, wear to corners. Front gutter cloth is split but binding remains secure. Stain at lower corner of front board and along bottom edge of pages. Foxing to blank pages before and after text. Pages inside are toned but unmarked. FFEP contains blind stamp for Chas Miller's Book Hive, 15 Ann Street New York, 1859. An early copy of Mrs. Trollope's survey of Americans and their attitudes, with wear, but all 8 plates remain intact, with their tissue guards.. Hardcover. Good. Illus. by August Hervieu . 8vo.

Domestic Manners of the Americans is an 1832 travel book by Frances Trollope, which follows her travels through America and her residence in Cincinnati, at the time still a frontier town.

The store contains over 10,000 books in over 80 different subjects, and favors good used books and good literature (both hardcover and paperback) over popular books and bestsellers. Our Internet business began in 2001. Upon visiting the store, we can show and sell individual online titles upon request. Store hours are 10:00-5:30 (Tues.-Sat.) and 11:00-4:00 (Sun.). The business is run by Richard Chalfin.
